Founded in the fall of 1958, we are one of the oldest continuously active sport diving clubs in the
world.
The North Shore Frogmen's Club, is a diving club of 80 plus members, and is affiliated with the
Bay State Council of Divers, Inc..
We were incorporated in 1958 and featured in a double-page photo in LIFE magazine in 1959, and
North East Dive News magazine in 2008.
As a club we promote safe, enjoyable diving, dive-related and community service activities. We dive
year-round - starting on New Year's Day. Our activity schedule includes weekly club dives, night dives,
ice dives, boat dives, deep dives, and wreck dives. Also included are family weekend trips, our club
picnic and banquet, and winter dives every week. In addition to our vigorous dive schedule and
weekly meetings, our members use our unique "Buddy List" to contact other members and to dive in
small groups throughout the week. When you want to dive, you can always find another member of
the club to go with you!
The club has participated in search and rescue operations in support of area harbormasters, police and
fire departments. In small groups our members travel to the tropics for dive vacations throughout the
year; individually our members "dive the world."
Weekly meetings include discussions/presentations on equipment maintenance, underwater
photography, lobstering, seafood recipes, safety instruction and guest speakers. Dive or dive related
equipment is raffled off weekly.
Our members come from all walks of life, and to join you need only share our respect and love for the
sea. Diving certification is required. Our members are beginning divers, sport divers, experienced
divers, and a few instructors and professionals. You'll be diving with people considerate enough to
help you suit-up, and patient enough to dive with you.
Our members' experience will aid you in the selection of new equipment, show you where the best
dive sites are, and help you perfect your diving skills.
If you would like to join us, check out our Membership page.
