President’s Message

Happy Summer to all, hope you are enjoying the heaty and lazy days of this fine season. Like everybody else, I am going in six different directions at once and not accomplishing much at all. BUT, try and enjoy the season cause before we know it, the shovels will come out of their hiding place to keep us company for several months.

I hope everybody has had a chance to do some diving over the last several months. At the meetings, it seems like it's always the same few who venture out and enjoy our fine sport. It would be nice if more hands were raised during the "Dive Talk". The more we dive, the better our forgotten skills come back to us. I know, sounds like your dive instructor talking. Dive, dive, dive. the more we do it, the better it feels.

This months" Diver of the Month" is Ric Stamegna. Ric leads all the club Sunday and special dives. Besides being a very competent diver, he is very good at manning the charcoal grill.

Candi Sousa is July's "Member of the Month". Everyone will admit that Candi lends an air of good spirit to the meetings and is always willing to volunteer to assist in the club activities. She was a big help at the last Sea Rover Show and she is manning the club table at the upcoming Scuba Jam on the 31st.

Hope to see more of the "old members" at the club meetings and events planned for the rest of the summer. When you come to a meeting or function, bring along a diving friend or buddy. We are always looking to expand our membership.

See you at the next meeting and remember to DIVE, DIVE, DIVE......

Dave Metrano

Combined Air Bubbles

I was too busy having a baby at the end of July to do Air Bubbles (I know, I know... I’ve got to get my priorities in order...). I have combined the July, August and September issues of Air Bubbles together into one!

Tadpoles

The club has had two more new additions...

Peter and Holly Cassidy and their daughter Maddy welcomed a new baby girl, Marielle nto their home on July 10th. Gary and I had a baby boy, Jacob, on July 29th.

Hmmm... between the Galperins, the Cassidy’s and the Doyon’s I think we know what froggie members do when they’re not diving... ;-).

Finding The Frogmen

Oh no, not here, too cold, what’s to see

Compared to warm water sealife?

Hungry to dive, I traveled to Cyberspace,

In search of a buddy to descend with.

A dive group in Salem, North Shore Frogmen, their name.

I’ll find them, listen to what they say.

Warmly welcomed by all, application in hand.

A check out dive lent questioning

Equipment familiar I’m not

Rent it in case.

Unaware what hood, mitts, a 7mm feels like

Concerned with loose fins, tight suit, 2 digits free

I resorted to inflate the BC

Fear heightened, no Velcro

Where’s the inflator hose!!!

Oh no, tow me in, this isn’t for me.

As I composed and compared every piece,

Back to re-rent better quality

In the water again, I do want this!!!

And owe my success to a frogman.

Thank you, Ric Stamegna, for your patience,

Commitment and expertise.

I now find myself suspended in beauty.

Addicted to diving,

Linda B. Marshall
