President’s Message – August 2014
Greetings Frogs!
I hope you are getting in some awesome dives this summer! I hear the squid are around so stay tuned for some club night dives.
We have a lot of things to look forward to in August. On Thursday August 7th, Katherine Deuel from The Pew Charitable Trusts will be giving a presentation on preservation and conservation of our New England marine life and habitat. There are new proposals to open up protected areas to commercial fishermen. She will discuss what we can do to help preserve the marine life.
August 14th we will have our 2nd Wing Night at 7:30pm at Anmol Restaurant on 258 Rantoul St. Join us for some authentic Indian cuisine! There are plenty of things to try and they offer Tandoori style food for those don't care for curry in their entrees.
Join us for an early morning dive charter On Sat. August 16th with the Finatics on Cape Ann Divers. We will be diving Saturday Night Ledge and The Poling! Call Mary at Cape Ann Divers to sign up for this trip at (978)
Jim and Linda D'Urso will be hosting the Froggies for a pool party/cook out on Sat. August 16th at 1pm. The address is 22 Sheffield Dr. Peabody, MA. Party with the "Most Interesting Man in the World". RSVP to Linda @ lindamom3bv@comcast.net or call Linda @
We are now selling tickets for our Club Whale Watch on Saturday Sept.13th! We are able to secure a group rate for tickets at $25!!! These
tickets are usually $48 which is a huge savings!!. Metro West and Finatics Dive Clubs will be joining us for this whale watch trip. The boat holds 150 people. We will meet there at 8:15 am to check in and pick up our tickets. Captain Bill and Sons is located at 24 Harbor Loop Gloucester, Ma. They have marine biologists on board that have been studying the whales for years and they are excellent at narrating about the whales. Please see Laura Gallagher if you want to sign up and buy a ticket. No refunds unless Captain Bill and Sons cancels due to bad weather. Here is the link for purchasing the Whale Watch tickets online.
I would like to name Annette Spaulding as Diver of the Month and Patrick Madden as Member of the Month for their gracious hospitality to the Frogs for the Vermont trip! You guys rock and we love you!
Hope to see you in the water very soon! :)
