President’s Message - December 2013
Hi All,
The holidays are fast approaching. We are switching over to winter diving hours. We now are meeting at BK at 9am on Sundays. Jim Cook and myself will be working to organize the winter diving this upcoming year. We are hoping to get to some new locations and also organize some ice dives as well.
The Frogmen Banquet is on Dec. 7th at 7pm at the Italian Community Center (ICC) on Rantoul St in Beverly. We are selling tickets for $35 at meetings and online on the Frogmen website via PayPal.
Every year we have a pizza party which falls on the first Thursday after Christmas and before New Year's. This year the first Thursday falls on Dec 26th the day after Christmas. We addressed this at a recent meeting and it was determined that most club members and officers would not be able to attend a pizza party on that date. Instead we are having our annual pizza party on Thurs Dec 19th at 7pm at Santarpio’s Restaurant on Rt1 in Peabody. We will cover the cost of pizzas and sodas. Any additional appetizers or bar drinks are to be paid separately by the members. We will also have an optional Yankee Swap at the pizza party. Bring a gift around
We are planning to have a New Year's Day dive at 10 am at Back Beach in Rockport! We are coordinating the dive with the Finatics Dive club and East Coast Divers. Dodie has been gracious to offer to host the post dive party at her house again (at 6 Ridgewood Rd Rockport). We have been updating the online calendar with upcoming events.
I am naming Mary Howard as member of the month for stepping up to run the photo contest. I am naming Jim Cook diver of the month for offering to help coordinate the winter dives. Happy holidays and happy diving! :)
Cheers! Laura Gallagher
