Who's Diving this Weekend?

Unless its in your basement or living room, which is possible though unfortunate, my personal experience is that you should refrain from "testing" or "proving" your skills in the anticipated rough waters as a result of Isabel this weekend.

Several years ago, I had a buddy who insisted that he was diving despite the storm surge from an offshore storm, with or without me. He was inexperienced and I did not want him to dive alone. So I went with him.

We had a miserable entrance, a hard swim, an 8 ft. surge and 0 viz on the bottom, a harder swim back, and one of the worst exits I had ever seen until this whole J-Lo/Ben thing.

We also lost a catch bag, a snorkel, a fishing spear and some lead.

Its a good weekend to read "Deep Descent" or rent the collector's edition of "The Deep."

Be safe and see you soon!

This should be fun ...

Dafoe Diving Into 'Aquatic' with Blanchett

Willem Dafoe & Cate Blanchett will join Bill Murray, Anjelica Huston and Owen Wilson in the adventure/comedy "The Life Aquatic."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "...the Disney project follows the experiences of an oceanographer and his crew on a series of wild deep-sea adventures, including the search for a shark. Dafoe will star as the ship's engineer and the surrogate brother of Murray's character, while Blanchett will play the female lead, a member of the ship's crew. Jeff Goldblum, Peter Stormare, Wallace Wolodarsky and Bud Cort round out the cast.

What a cast! What a concept! Carl Spackler Meets Jacques-Yves Cousteau!

"Here little sharkie..."
