This week, NSF members will be giving a slide presentation from the
club trips to Eastport, Maine this past May/June. Eastport is located on an offshoot of the Bay of Fundy and has 20-25 ft tides creating well-mixed, nutrient-filled water (and diving at slack tide only). The marine life is abundant and there are many things you don't get to see off Cape Ann. Join us Thursday at 8:00 for some spectacular underwater shots (and popcorn, too). Thursday, July 25, 2002
Is this a reprint from last year? What's up with this Florida mini season, and why do they go so nuts down there? Diver dies on opening day of lobster miniseason

DAN Assists Researcher Conducting Dive Safety Survey In the fall of 2000, more than 12,000 divers participated in the Safety Survey of Recreational Scuba Divers. A report of those findings was presented at the June scientific meeting of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. Several dive researchers and organizations have encouraged the survey‚s principal investigator David F. Colvard, M.D., to conduct a follow-up survey aimed at better understanding divers and their experiences. The new survey will follow up with the same group of divers early each year for three consecutive years. Dr. Richard Vann, Vice President of DAN Research, said that while the survey is not a DAN study, it will provide important diving safety information, and he encouraged recreational scuba divers to complete it. [Here's what DAN had to say] To complete this confidential three- to six-minute survey, recreational scuba divers should visit this website Sunday, July 21, 2002
Todd Daniels from Northeast Scuba just phoned in. A Blue DUI TLS-350 Dry Suit was left behind at Back Beach, yesterday, Saturday July 20. There was no sign of it at the beach today, and the Rockport Police and Cape Ann Divers have come up empty. If you have the suit, or any information about its whereabouts, please call Northeast Scuba at 978 256-2300.
